| Summer Whitford is a food and wine professional with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. As President of Maison Chanteclerc she provides cooking and wine instruction to wine enthusiasts, restaurants, and wine industry professionals, offers management and marketing consulting, and conducts guided food and wine tours.
She was an instructor of cooking and wine at LAcademie de Cuisine, teaches wine tasting seminars for The French Wine Society at the French Embassy, conducts wine tastings for private clients including: restaurants, retail wine stores, corporations, university Alumni Clubs, and private individuals. In addition, she works with importers and distributors to plan tasting events, recently Passed with Distinction the Intermediate Level 2 of the Master of Wine, and is a member of the prestigious Society of Wine Educators.
Summer's love of food, wine, and travel come from a childhood spent in the countryside of northeastern France near both the Champagne and Alsace wine regions and in the Rheingau wine region of Germany. Her European experiences and love of France forever altered her philosophy of life and inspired her to pursue her passion for food and wine.
